Online News Association board nominations include our very own Penny Riordan
Our very own Penny Riordan, GateHouse Media’s director of digital content partnerships, was recently nominated for a position on the Online News Association‘s board by Vicki Dean, digital editor of the Herald-Tribune in Sarasota, Florida.
Riordan joined GateHouse Media in August 2014 after serving for four years at Patch.com, where she led social media, blogging and UGC efforts. Her work with GateHouse involves partnering with both digital vendors and newsrooms to establish best practices and aid in digital transformation efforts.
Her nominator writes:
“Penny has deep roots in digital, rising through the ranks at a startup to a corporate role, and has been the driving force in moving GateHouse properties into a digital-centric organization experiencing rapid digital growth with an audience of 23 million unique visitors monthly. Under her leadership, she has grown the company’s video and social-media presence, worked significantly with vendors and startups on new ventures, led company-wide training on audience engagement and analytics, and become a trusted thought leader on new initiatives that have attracted national attention. Penny would be a great ambassador for ONA, and her intelligence and experience make her a natural asset for the board.”
