Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s Executive Editor Bill Church selected as a Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow

billchurchBill Church, executive editor of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and southeast regional editor of GateHouse Media, was recently selected as one of eight 2016 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellows to spend time at Harvard University working on projects designed to advance the field of journalism.

Church’s project will explore organizational behavior in community-size newsrooms and explore new models for adaptability and innovation. His research will include four weeks on-site at Harvard and MIT, spending time in the Nieman Lab and with Harvard’s organizational behavior and innovation faculty.

The fellowship program was established in 2012 to invite individuals with promising journalism research proposals to take advantage of the resources at Harvard University and the Nieman Foundation.
