Herald-Tribune reporter Maggie Clark named National Health Journalism Fellow

bildeMaggie Clark, health reporter for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, was recently awarded a National Health Journalism Fellowship to pursue reporting on Florida’s Medicaid system for vulnerable children.

Clark will join 20 other journalists for a five-day program at the fellowship’s home base on the University of Southern California campus in Los Angeles, and will receive guidance and support from the health policy experts throughout her reporting. She plans to publish her project in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune in early 2016.

With support provided by the Dennis A. Hunt Fund for Health Journalism, Clark will undertake an ambitious investigative and explanatory journalism project on community children’s health access and outcomes within Florida’s Medicaid system.

The 2015 fellowship program is organized by the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Journalism and the California Endowment and designed for journalists who want to do groundbreaking reporting on vulnerable children and families and the community conditions that contribute to their well-being.
