Write out every one as two words when it means each individual item. Use one word as a pronoun to refer to all the people.

Proper use:

  • According to the receptionist, everyone takes their lunch at noon.
  • Every one of the visiting speakers took the subway to the presentation.

Improper use:

  • She said every one will be at the picnic.
  • Everyone of the papers is designed in-house.
